We are seeking accomplished research scientists and engineers to join our team full-time at our Santa Clara office. As part of your role, you will work on designing and training LLMs, interpreting model behavior, and aligning models with human values. The ideal candidate will possess an exceptional background in machine learning and be motivated to develop state-of-the-art models towards AGI.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Verify Model Architectures: Develop novel model architectures and training objectives that push the boundaries of current technology.
  2. Investigate Alignment Algorithms: Explore and implement novel model alignment algorithms to ensure safe and trustworthy AI development.
  3. Coding and Experimentation: Write efficient and clean code for ML training, conduct large-scale experiments to validate modeling choices, and identify areas for improvement.
Required Expertise
  1. Communication and Presentation: Effectively summarize results and communicate complex ideas through clear, concise presentations.
  2. Proficiency in Deep Learning Frameworks: Demonstrated expertise in one or more deep learning frameworks, such as PyTorch.
  3. Research Experience: Participation in at least one research project related to LLM or multimodal models, including experience in training or fine-tuning them.
  4. Alignment Research: Background in alignment research and its applications to AI development.
  5. Distributed Model Training: Experience in large-scale distributed model training and GPU kernel programming in CUDA.
Qualifications
  1. Advanced Degree: PhD or Master's degree with significant scientific contributions.
  2. Active GitHub Repository: A public GitHub repository showcasing coding skills and research accomplishments.
  3. Scientific Track Record: An active record of scientific publications and conference appearances.
  4. Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex challenges.
