Job Title: School Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Psychologist to join our team at the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board. As a School Psychologist, you will play a vital role in providing behavioral and mental health consultation and psychological assessments to support students with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultation and psychological assessment services to school teams, families, and other professionals in support of students.
  • Develop recommendations for student support plans and appropriate interventions in consultation with other Psychology staff and under the direction of the Senior Psychologist.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement strategies to support student learning and well-being.
  • Conduct psychological assessments and provide diagnostic statements and recommendations as appropriate.
  • Provide brief counseling to students and participate in school and multi-disciplinary team meetings to support students with complex needs.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral or Master's degree in Psychology (or similar program) from an accredited University.
  • Registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario with declared areas of competency in School Psychology, Clinical Psychology (with children and adolescents) or both.
  • Previous experience working in an educational environment with children and youth.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written communication skills, including proficiency with technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to be an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team.
