We are seeking an Architectural Technologist (Level 2) to join our expanding Construction Team in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Director of Construction, this role involves producing design layouts and developing drawings and schedules for all phases of a construction project, from concept to completion of scope. You will contribute towards the accuracy, quality, completeness, and schedule of finished drawing packages through coordination of team members, internal departments, consultants, and clients.

This is a technical role that requires a strong background in architectural technologies and proficiency in Revit. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with good time management, organization, and communication skills. They should be able to work proficiently in Revit and have experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop conceptual layouts, schematic designs, and construction documents packages for approval and various permits
  • Prepare sightline ergonomic studies to ensure proper locations for video walls/screens
  • Coordinate with outside architects, engineers, and other consultants/vendors as required
  • Review drawings for accuracy and local building code/ADA compliance before submission
  • Perform detailed site surveys for accurate as-built drawings of existing spaces
  • Design custom millwork and provide schematic drawings to millwork contractors for their shop drawings and review these for accuracy
  • Create Color Board finish options customized to each project for approval by the client
  • Schedule 3D renderings and provide clear instructions, markups, and detailed 3D models to the rendering team
  • Research and compile construction materials and products
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Reader/Writer & Presentation software
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and schedules
  • Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated to develop and take on more responsibility to grow within the department
  • 2-year Diploma in Architectural Technologies or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience as an Architectural Technologist
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and integration with Revit
