About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Manager to lead our growing team of software engineers. As a key member of our technology organization, you will be responsible for driving the development of our software applications and ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and usability.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with experience in managing agile development teams and leading projects from concept to delivery. You will be responsible for developing and executing project plans, managing budgets and timelines, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead agile development teams to deliver high-quality software applications
  • Develop and execute project plans, including budgeting and timeline management
  • Manage stakeholders and maintain good relationships with internal and external collaborators
  • Develop strategic requests and keep them up to date by identifying deliverables and dependencies
  • Build, direct and coordinate the activities of multidisciplinary teams
  • Write reports on project progress, issues, costs, and closing
  • Effectively manage project delivery and maintain dashboards
  • Collaborate with other Software Engineering Managers and Project Managers to ensure all initiatives have appropriate staffing
  • Anticipate problems and difficult situations and take necessary measures to resolve them
  • Manage ongoing relationships and expectations of stakeholders and senior management
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Software Engineering
  • Experience managing a team and leading projects
  • Strong understanding and experience with web application technologies
  • Experience in continuous delivery management and software debugging
  • Experience in change management and transformation within a project/program context
  • Experience in the insurance industry, specifically in Claims, is a strong asset
  • Bilingualism is required for candidates located in Quebec
