About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Reinsurance IT team as a Senior Software Developer (Oracle SQL). This role involves working with Oracle SQL language, using Toad for Oracle and/or PL/SQL.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze system and coding needs to identify problems and propose solutions, including program specifications.
  • Translate requirements into technical specifications/software components.
  • Develop and maintain Oracle SQL queries and scripts for data analysis and reporting.
  • Support project teams in development activities to ensure high-quality code delivery while meeting project deadlines.
  • Write unit and integration tests for each function requiring development.
  • Participate in regression testing strategies to improve application component stability.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production support issues related to reinsurance processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth month-end processes.
  • Implement error handling mechanisms to enhance system reliability and performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working with Oracle SQL language, using Toad for Oracle and/or PL/SQL.
  • Strong understanding of reinsurance processes and industry standards.
  • Insurance background is mandatory.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • P&C insurance knowledge required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Teamwork and communication skills are essential.
