The Lac La Ronge Indian Band is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Prevention Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our social services department, you will play a critical role in implementing child protection and family support initiatives that promote the well-being and safety of children and families in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement prevention, child protection, and family support service initiatives that address the unique needs of children and families in our communities.
- Collaborate with parents and families to address issues that may pose a risk to children's safety or well-being, and provide guidance and support to help them create a safe and stable environment.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop comprehensive plans to ensure the safety and well-being of children in child protection cases.
- Work closely with community agencies and stakeholders to identify and address the needs of children and families, and to develop and implement programs that promote their well-being.
- Supervise and support Prevention Workers in their roles, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Diploma or certificate in a relevant field, such as social work or child and family studies.
- At least 5 years of experience in child protection and family support services.
- Knowledge of and adherence to the Saskatchewan Child & Family Services Act and other relevant legal mandates.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Valid Saskatchewan driver's license and satisfactory criminal record and vulnerable sector screening check.
