Underwriting Specialist, Property West Region, Calgary

We are seeking an experienced Underwriting Specialist to join our team in Calgary, West Region. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for analyzing and underwriting new and renewal business, utilizing our proprietary underwriting framework to ensure a high level of service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business, utilizing our underwriting framework to ensure a high level of service to our customers.
- Manage an assigned portfolio of accounts, developing and maintaining relationships with brokers and clients.
- Provide technical guidance, assistance, and training to new underwriters, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their roles.
- Qualify accounts to meet within our organization's appetite, balanced with sound business opportunity.
- Cross-sell other lines of business to increase product density, driving revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
- Business travel as required, with opportunities to work with our global team and contribute to our company's success.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
- OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
- OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
- OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
- AND Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
- Experience working in a team environment.
