About the Role

This is a senior-level position within our Estimating Team, responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates for a variety of ICI projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in estimation, with a minimum of 8 years of experience working with commercial and institutional projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates for ICI projects, working independently and in collaboration with other estimators.
  • Read and interpret project specifications and contract documents.
  • Assist with and prepare the full on-screen quantity take-off of all labour, equipment, and materials as per project specifications using AutoBid Mechanical software.
  • Receive, review, and enter sub-trade and supplier pricing in a detailed and organized manner using SmartBid software.
  • Post sub-trade and supplier bid invitations using SmartBid software.
  • Prepare bid packages for transfer to Purchasing upon job award.
  • Prepare detailed billing breakdowns on successful projects.
  • Attend tender site meetings, deliver tenders, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 8 years of experience in an estimation role with a General Contractor.
  • Experience with commercial and institutional projects.
  • Experience with reading and interpreting large-scale project drawings and bid specifications.
  • Knowledge of construction industry standards and codes.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficient user of MS Office and other software programs.
