Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Ucluelet and Area Child Care Society. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
  • Maintain daycare equipment and ensure a safe and healthy environment for children
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
  • Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
Requirements
  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
  • Emergency child care first aid and CPR certification
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
