Hybrid Work: This role is based in Calgary, Alberta, and requires in-person collaboration at our WestJet Campus 3 days a week. The remaining 40% of the workweek is flexible, allowing for critical learning, collaboration, and networking with colleagues.

16-Month Term Position: We're seeking an experienced Accountant - Fuel to support our Finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a high standard of excellence, enjoy problem-solving, and take personal initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage large volumes of email and invoices
  • Work with internal and external business partners to resolve queries and discrepancies
  • Process daily operational accounting, with a focus on organization and processing
  • Investigate discrepancies, including vendor statement reconciliations and tax calculations
  • Assist with team on fuel invoice payment procedures
  • Partner with various teams to assist with ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and decision support
  • Document processes and ensure compliance with internal controls and C-Sox requirements

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education and/or certificate in a related field (i.e., Accounting or Finance)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of related experience
  • High level of Excel proficiency and a keen interest in learning new technology
  • Previous experience with JD Edwards or other ERP software and reporting systems
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and a strong desire for continuous improvement
