About the Role:As a Senior Irrigation Planning Specialist, you will be responsible for undertaking engineering studies, preparing engineering reports, drawings, and specifications, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams. You will also assist in proposal preparation, mentor junior engineers, and attend training sessions to ensure continuing professional development.
Key Responsibilities:- Engineering Studies: Conduct thorough engineering studies to identify optimal solutions for irrigation planning and design.
- Report Preparation: Prepare detailed engineering reports, including designs, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with project teams, clients, and consultants to ensure successful project delivery.
- Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Training: Attend training sessions to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years of experience working on water conveyance projects, with a strong emphasis on irrigation planning and design.
- Registered as a P.Eng with APEGA in the Province of Alberta.
- Excellent communication, written, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with hydraulic analysis/modeling software (e.g., MikeUrban, PCSWMM, StormCAD, WaterCAD, XPSWMM).
