Key Responsibilities
  • Load, unload and transport construction materials safely and efficiently.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections to ensure all equipment is in good working condition.
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades as required.
  • Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs under the guidance of experienced tradespeople.
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials in a safe and organized manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance work to prevent equipment breakdowns.
  • Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants promptly and effectively.
  • Remove rubble and other debris from construction sites.
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction.
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites.
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation as required.
Work Environment and Physical Capabilities
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Work at heights using scaffolding or other equipment.
  • Work in confined spaces such as crawl spaces or attics.
  • Handle heavy loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
Requirements
  • Will train on the job.
  • Support for newcomers and refugees is available.
  • Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition and provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings.
  • Support for Indigenous people is also available.
  • Offers mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
  • Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees.
  • Permanent full-time position.
  • 40 hours per week with a regular schedule.
  • English is the primary language of communication.
