About the Role

This is a permanent position, working 30-40 hours per week. The successful candidate will have English language skills and will be responsible for building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roof systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Execution:
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools;
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials;
  • Prepare tenders and quotations;
  • Bid on projects and create proposals;
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems;
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware;
  • Scheduling and co-ordinating work on sites;
  • Surveying building locations and levels;
  • Instructing apprentices;
  • Supervising other workers;
  • Estimating costs and materials;
  • Operating CADD and other computer software systems;
  • Maintaining, repairing and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate;
  • Experience: At least 1 month of experience;
  • Language Skills: English language proficiency.
