Job Description


We are seeking an experienced Principal Signaling Solutions Architect to join our team. As a key member of our signaling solutions group, you will be responsible for designing and developing standardized architectures for Interlocking (IXL) systems. Your primary objective will be to ensure safe train movements by analyzing customer and product requirements and defining functional, physical, and operational architectures for IXL equipment.



Responsibilities



  • System Design and Development

    • You will participate in the development of single-line and double-line signaling plans, including signal locations, switch machine types, bungalow types, platform locations, and grades.
    • You will define and design pre-fitted solutions for Central Interlocking Computer, Remote Area Controllers, and Safe HMI Clients, considering racks, cubicle housing, internal cabling, power supply needs, and interfaces with other subsystems.

  • Collaboration and Leadership

    • You will work closely with project leaders, engineering managers, and product development teams to capture customer architectural requirements, environmental conditions, and trackside equipment needs.
    • You will lead the production of exhaustive documentation sets for assembly and off-site testing (FAT) of pre-fitted solutions.

  • Quality Assurance and Improvement

    • You will ensure adherence to reference processes and methods, requesting deviations when necessary.
    • You will support installation and test & commissioning teams during solution deployment and testing, using on-site activities for continuous improvement.

  • Knowledge Sharing and Management

    • You will share knowledge of IXL system architecture features with the project engineering community.
    • You will select and manage subcontractors as needed.



Requirements


To succeed in this role, you will need:



  • An Engineering Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5-10 years of experience in relevant positions, such as systems/sub-systems application design or integration, electrotechnical product development, in a highly complex and normative environment (railway signaling, aerospace, defense).
  • Good analytical skills and previous experience in system design & integration.


Salary and Benefits


We offer a competitive salary range of €80,000 - €120,000 per year, depending on your experience. Additionally, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
