Your Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Physical Therapist interested in working with adults living in the community who have complex rehabilitation needs. The Community Rehabilitation Interdisciplinary Service (CRIS) program is seeking a Physical Therapist I to provide physical therapy, patient assessment, and treatment to community dwelling adults with complex and neurological conditions. This position provides the opportunity to work within an interdisciplinary team including Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Recreation Therapy, and Social Work and a variety of other disciplines. The successful candidate will be required to maintain adequate clinical records, provide rehabilitation consultation to other staff, as well as mentor and supervise Physical Therapy students and Therapy Assistants. The ability to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and community based medical and Allied Health clinicians to provide effective and appropriate patient care and discharge planning is an essential part of this role. This position supports CRIS services offered at all three locations as needed.

Description:

As the Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness and functional decline. You will provide intervention (prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral and transition support to individuals, groups, populations and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. The PT collaborates with patient(s) and families in determining, implementing and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports and engage in quality improvement; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community; participates in peer mentoring; and supervises students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and Provisional Physiotherapists.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Master's degree, Experience working in Connect Care is considered an asset. Experience working in an outpatient clinic setting. Experience working with interdisciplinary teams. Experience supervising Therapy Assistants and students. Experience providing virtual assessment and treatment. Group facilitation skills preferred.
