We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electronics Hardware Designer to join our Electrical Equipment Design team in Montreal. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and testing electronic circuits for medical devices, including high voltage PFA treatments, communications, and interface circuits.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Design, develop, debug, modify, and test electrical circuits and systems using the latest tools, analysis techniques, and technologies.
- Problem-Solving: Resolve engineering problems by analyzing the situation and recommending corrective or preventative measures.
- Research and Selection: Study, research, and select electronic circuits, components, tools, and equipment using best practices.
- Documentation: Document the development of electrical components by writing procedures, reports, memos, and change requests.
- Tracking and Communication: Track electrical component development efforts by creating and maintaining records in approved tracking management tools and clearly communicate key technical updates to relevant parties.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical research, and marketing departments on complex projects to ensure success.
- Quality and Safety: Demonstrate a leading commitment to patient safety and product quality at all times by adhering to all documented quality processes and procedures.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering.
- Technical Skills: Strong electrical engineering simulation skills, Spice based or MATLAB, solid lab experience with circuit debugging, test fixtures development, and relevant lab test equipment.
- Experience: Experience in designing analog/power supply electronics, low noise analog electronics, and medical device electronics.
- Programming Skills: Familiarity using Python for automation of simulation and data analytics.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to solve complex problems by analyzing root causes, designing and executing experimental plans, and using statistical methodologies to make data-driven decisions.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical information from multiple and varied sources and work independently to plan, schedule, and execute activities necessary to meet project deadlines.
