Aquatic Program Instructor

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to join our Community Services Department as a Lifeguard/Instructor. This role involves providing constant safety supervision, instructing various aquatic programs, and delivering exceptional customer service. You will also assist with special events and perform maintenance duties as assigned. As a shift leader, you will provide general direction to part-time staff in the absence of the Pool Supervisor and Assistant Pool Supervisor.

To be successful in this role, you must possess a Grade 12 diploma and have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a lifeguard and/or instructor. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work shift work are required. You must also hold current certification in the following:

• National Lifeguard Certification
• Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Certification
• Lifesaving Instructor
• Standard First Aid AED/CPR Basic Rescuer

The City of Yellowknife offers an attractive annual salary range of $70,872-$83,124, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including housing and vacation travel allowance totaling $450 per month, a defined benefit pension plan, and relocation assistance.
