We are seeking an exceptional Senior Investigator to join our team at the University of Toronto. This is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled professional to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing their expertise to conduct complex investigations and provide expert consultation on high-risk matters.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for assessing reports, developing investigative plans, conducting investigations, and producing final investigative reports on high-risk, sexual violence-related matters, and other ad-hoc issues. They will also be responsible for developing and implementing alternative resolution pathways, working closely with senior academic leaders and service providers across the University.
Key Responsibilities- Conducting trauma-informed investigations, including those related to sexual violence and harassment
- Managing multiple investigative files simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Facilitating mediation processes and developing relationships with stakeholders
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to high-risk matters
- Providing expert consultation and support on workplace safety, crisis counseling, and conflict resolution
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or Juris Doctor degree, or a graduate-level university degree in a related field, such as social work, psychology, public health, or criminology
- At least eight years of recent experience in conducting investigations, including those related to sexual violence and harassment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to analyze complex information and produce clear, concise reports
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple files and prioritize tasks effectively
- Experience working in a university or public sector setting, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and policies
The University of Toronto offers a competitive salary range of $104,818 - $174,698, commensurate with experience.
