Housekeeping Room Attendant Job Description

Fox Harb'r Resort is a 5 Star, 4 Diamond property nestled along the coast of the Northumberland Strait in Nova Scotia. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our housekeeping team as a Room Attendant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sweep, mop, wash, strip, wax and polish floors
  • Dust furniture
  • Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture
  • Make beds and change sheets
  • Distribute clean towels and toiletries
  • Stock linen closet
  • Clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances
  • Disinfect operating rooms and other areas
  • Clean and disinfect elevators
  • Handle and report lost and found items
  • Attend to guests' requests for extra supplies or other items
  • Provide basic information on facilities
  • Pick up debris and empty trash containers
  • Wash windows, walls and ceilings
  • Clean changing rooms and showers
  • May handle customers' complaints or concerns
  • Report and store lost and found items

Requirements:

  • No formal education is required
  • Experience is an asset. On-the-job training will be provided.
  • Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling
  • Reliability, Organized, Team player, Dependability
  • Basic level of English is required

Important Information:

The position requires flexibility in scheduling based on business needs. The work schedule is from 8 am – 4:30 pm. Weekend work will be required. Please note that we are located in a rural area.
