Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including WAN, LAN, wireless, Cloud, and data center networking.
  • Develop and enforce network and systems security controls, including encryption, authentication, access controls, anti-malware services, and software updates.
  • Manage virtualization infrastructure, including compute, storage, and networking resources, high availability configurations, and server provisioning.
  • Administer physical data center and Cloud resources, including servers, chassis, cabling, and network equipment.
  • Maintain critical infrastructure services, including Active Directory, DNS, file services, backups, email, telephony, and video conferencing.
  • Implement and manage disaster recovery and backup processes.
  • Collaborate with IT Support Specialists to resolve service desk incidents and provide technical expertise to other IT staff.
  • Perform disaster recovery rehearsals and create technical support documentation for systems and applications.
  • Analyze and resolve network and system infrastructure problems and outages.
  • Administer Active Directory, VPN, and telephony systems.
  • Perform test restores from backups and coordinate with IT Help Desk for employee onboarding and offboarding.
  • Work on special projects to ensure success and stay up-to-date with ongoing educational opportunities.
  • Provide on-call support for all areas of responsibility and perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Data Processing or equivalent work experience in a computer operations or computer networking position.
  • 5+ years' experience in network and system infrastructure administration in a medium-size business environment.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting virtualized infrastructure, IP-based phone systems, CCTV systems, enterprise-grade SAN and NAS storage technologies, firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches, and network cabling.
  • Experience configuring and supporting current versions of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SQL Server, and Exchange.
  • Qualification or study towards qualification as MCSE, CISSP, CCNA, CCNP, and expertise in administering Office 365, Azure, Meraki/Cisco, Ubuntu/Linux, and Veeam backups.
  • Expertise in setting up and administering wireless networks, proficiency with scripting languages, and demonstrated expertise in Cisco and Cisco Meraki Networking technologies, TCP/IP communications protocols, and subnetting.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, and work well within a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate technical information in an understandable manner to non-technical employees, highest level of professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical, questioning, organizational, and problem-solving skills, understanding of hardware and software system terminologies, On-Prem and Cloud-based technologies, and excellent understanding of computer hardware, networking principles, virtualization, operating systems, and security.
  • Hands-on technical troubleshooting capabilities, familiarity with server management and monitoring tools, ability to quickly learn new and rapidly changing technologies, and possess Project Management skills.
  • Dependable and ability to work independently and be self-motivated, ability to create and edit network drawings, and ability to manage and automate infrastructure via PowerShell or other languages.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current infrastructure, network, or security certification.
  • Experience using or administering an IBM System-I (AS400).
