Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team at Argus Machine Co. Ltd. as a key member of our maintenance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and equipment, and will play a critical role in maintaining our high standards of quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment and machines, adhering to established schedules and task sheets.
  • Deliver high-quality maintenance and repair services, meeting customer requirements and ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of machinery and equipment condition, reporting any concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Troubleshoot and provide emergency repairs on malfunctioning machines, advising the Maintenance Supervisor of any issues.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications to assess machine functionality and make repairs or adjustments as needed.
  • Advise the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager of required machine parts and specialty tools to maintain optimal equipment performance.
  • Operate all machines and equipment within the shop, using shop tools as required to determine and deliver maintenance needs.
  • Contribute to the achievement of departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on a monthly and annual basis, working collaboratively with the team to identify and implement improvements.
Requirements
  • Registered Journeyman Certificate in the Millwright trade.
  • At least 3 years' experience operating machine tools or equipment.
  • High school diploma and/or other relevant trade credentials are an asset.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices, Quality Assurance requirements, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Machine shop environment with extended walking/standing, limited sitting.
  • Working while wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Lifting regularly up to 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance.
