About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Dock and Door Specialist to join our team at Johnston Equipment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the operational integrity and condition of overhead doors and dock levelers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular maintenance checks and diagnose repairs for dock products to replace worn or defective parts at customer sites.
  • Troubleshoot operational malfunctions on equipment and communicate and execute next steps for repair solutions to the customer.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Diagnose and order parts according to technical manuals and documentation.
  • Document and analyze breakdowns based on standard procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and technical support to our clients.

Requirements

  • High school completion or equivalent education proficiency and/or minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician or equivalent related experience.
  • Automotive Certification (310S) or Heavy Duty Technician Certification (421A) is an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems of battery and engine powered material handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of the use of hand tools and measuring devices, knowledge of the use of electrical/electronic diagnostic tools/measurements.
  • Experience with industrial equipment that involves lifting / rigging, maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial mechanical service equipment.
  • Ability to interpret and implement technical procedures.
  • Solid knowledge of general Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
