Senior Electrical Engineer

Gas Liquids Engineering (GLE) is a well-established engineering firm providing EPCM services to the energy industry. The company offers project management, engineering, drafting and design, procurement, construction management, and regulatory services.

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to work on various challenging projects in natural gas, oil, fractionation, carbon sequestration, hydrogen generation, power generation, and transmission.

  • The successful candidate will lead small to large-sized projects as the Electrical project lead, collaborating with other disciplines to ensure successful project completion.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers, technologists, and designers/drafters in the production of engineering drawings.
  • Evaluate and specify electrical and controls system equipment, complete electrical designs, and support the growth of the Electrical department.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, along with registration as a Professional Engineer in good standing with a Canadian regulator. A minimum of 8 years' experience in Energy projects in Canada, including experience as a project Electrical Lead, is necessary.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • 1+ years' experience leading junior and intermediate engineers, technologists, and designers/drafters.
  • Proficiency with ETAP Electrical Power System Analysis Software.
  • Prior experience in oil and gas or process facilities, power generation, transmission, and substations.
  • An understanding of project change management, project procurement systems, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and engineering problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and technical skills.
  • Ability to work directly with client office and field personnel in a flexible environment.

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
