Electrical Coordination Specialist

Black & McDonald Limited is seeking an experienced Electrical / Civil Project Coordinator to join its Atlantic team.
This role reports directly to the Utility Project Manager and involves working on a range of projects, including commercial, government, and institutional markets.
The successful candidate will provide leadership for assigned projects, establishing project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards as per company policy and contract specifications.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with stakeholders, including Black & McDonald team members, clients, consultants, trades, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Planning, preparing, monitoring, and managing construction schedules and milestones.
- Ensuring work is performed in compliance with applicable standards, including HSE regulations, company policies, and contract requirements.
- Monitoring and reporting on progress, labour productivity, work outcomes, budget, cost, and forecast.
- Reviewing work/contracts/WIP for areas of risk and correcting deficiencies.
- Ordering materials and equipment for projects.
- Ensuring accurate productivity reports are completed weekly.
- Preparing estimates of materials, labour, and equipment based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings, and specifications.
- Traveling to various worksites or client locations.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Competency requirements include effective communication, customer focus, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Education requirements include a degree or diploma in construction management, construction engineering technology, electrical engineering, civil engineering, or project management.
Work experience requirements include 3-5 years of experience in the electrical/civil industry.
Key skills and abilities include construction scheduling, business operations processes, organization, and time management.
Intermediate user of MS Office and Procore is required.
