Procurement Specialist

Job Summary
The Procurement Specialist - Indirect Materials and Services Lead will play a key role in managing and optimizing procurement processes for indirect materials and services across the ALMAG Group. This individual will be responsible for analyzing procurement data, developing strategies to improve cost-efficiency, and ensuring the procurement of high-quality services and indirect materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and control the purchasing of indirect goods and services through internal and external resources, including VMI activity.
- Analyze procurement data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive reports on procurement activities, including spend analysis, supplier performance, and contract compliance.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
- Maintain supplier relationships through regular communication, supplier evaluations, and performance reviews.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing discrepancies, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with internal departments to streamline procurement workflows and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or relevant equivalent experience.
- Minimum 6 years of buying experience, with exposure to metal/aluminium an asset.
- Minimum 6 years' experience in inventory control and cycle counts.
- Proven negotiation, conflict resolution, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of accounting systems and controls.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
