Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Specialist to join our team at EMC Business Solutions LLP. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for calculating and preparing cheques for payroll, posting journal entries, and preparing other statistical, financial and accounting reports.

Work Setting

This is a permanent position in an urban area, with a 35-hour workweek. You will be required to have a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in the field. You will also be required to have a valid driver's licence and be willing to travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
  • Post journal entries
  • Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
  • Prepare tax returns
  • Reconcile accounts
  • Accept payment or invoices for items delivered
  • Manage accounts receivable
  • Answer inquiries and provide information to customers
  • Prepare invoices and bank deposits
  • Notify debtors of overdue accounts and payments
  • Answer enquiries and resolve problems or discrepancies concerning customers' accounts
Computer and Technology Knowledge

You will be required to have knowledge of accounting software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, Syspro, and Magento.

Equipment and Machinery Experience

You will be required to have experience with a scanner.

Area of Specialization

This position is specialized in accounting.

Transportation/Travel Information

You will be required to have a valid driver's licence and be willing to travel.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

You will be required to have the ability to work independently, attention to detail, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Personal Suitability

You will be required to have accurate, client-focused, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, organized, reliable, team player, and time management skills.
