Kindred Construction Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Manager to lead our construction projects from initiation to completion. The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial and residential construction, with expertise in project planning, execution, and monitoring.

Responsibilities:

  • \
  • Develop and execute project plans and schedules to ensure timely completion and quality standards\
  • Manage and supervise project teams, including coordination with subtrades, consultants, and owners\
  • Implement health, safety, and environmental protection measures on site\
  • Maintain accurate financial records and reporting\
  • Lead client and trade meetings, and manage communication between stakeholders\
  • Evaluate and mitigate risks, and identify opportunities for optimization\
  • Prepare and negotiate construction contracts and agreements\
  • Oversee project closeout, including documentation and handover processes\
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members, promoting teamwork and professional development\
  • Perform other duties as required to manage a project or support business operations\
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, with ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders\
  • Utilize digital platforms and tools to streamline project management and reporting\
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and mutual respect within the organization\
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance technical knowledge and skills\
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, trades, and suppliers to promote business growth and success\
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards\
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, reports, and documentation related to project activities\
  • Collaborate with senior management and department heads to align project objectives with company goals and strategies\
  • Assist in developing and implementing process improvements and best practices\
  • Provide input and feedback on policy and procedure updates\
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, and industry associations\
  • Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines and deliver results\
  • Suggest innovative solutions to improve project efficiency, productivity, and quality\
  • Apply rigorous logic and methods to solve complex problems and achieve effective outcomes\
  • Monitor and evaluate project performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed\
  • Support the development of high-performance project teams through coaching, mentoring, and training\
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows\
  • Act as a liaison between project teams and other departments, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration\
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and partners\
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of business development strategies and initiatives\
  • Engage in regular self-assessment and peer review to ensure continuous learning and improvement\
  • Embody the company's values and culture, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment\
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by senior management\\

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in construction management, preferably in a senior role\
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and procedures\
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills\
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team\
  • Proficiency in digital project management tools and software\
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills\
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines\
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies\
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards\
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills\
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards\
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, priorities, and deadlines\
  • Physical stamina to perform site visits and travel as required\
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation\
  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in construction, engineering, or a related field an asset\
  • Professional certifications, such as P. Eng., PMP, LEED, GSC, Mass Timber, or other technical certifications, an asset\
  • Training in project-specific technical areas, such as Mass Timber or Passive House, a requirement\\
