Job Title: Hematopathologist

About the Role:

We are seeking a qualified Hematopathologist to join our team at Alberta Precision Laboratories Ltd. as a key member of our laboratory medicine staff. As a Hematopathologist, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing diseases and physiological disorders through the examination of laboratory samples and specimens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders through microscopic and chemical analyses of laboratory samples and specimens
  • Conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods
  • Prepare research papers for publication and presentation
  • Study the nature, cause and development of diseases and the structural and functional changes caused by diseases
  • Supervise laboratory activities and order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures

Requirements:

  • Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC)
  • Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II)
  • Specialty residency training in Hematological Pathology
  • Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities

Working Conditions:

This is a permanent position with a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. The successful candidate will be able to distinguish between colours, have manual dexterity, and be able to perform repetitive tasks.
