About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Response Operator to join our team at Miller Paving Limited. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for responding to emergency situations on the highway, including accidents, spills, and inclement weather. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safety of the traveling public and providing traffic control at accident scenes.

When not responding to emergencies, you will have the opportunity to operate a variety of equipment, including tractors, mowers, loaders, service trucks, and graders. You will also be responsible for making minor repairs to the highway, conducting daily circle checks, maintaining equipment, and providing minor repairs. Accurate documentation of incident reports, time sheets, fuel records, and hours of service will be a critical aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency situations on the highway, including accidents, spills, and inclement weather
  • Provide traffic control at accident scenes and ensure the safety of the traveling public
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including tractors, mowers, loaders, service trucks, and graders
  • Make minor repairs to the highway and conduct daily circle checks
  • Maintain equipment and provide minor repairs
  • Accurately document incident reports, time sheets, fuel records, and hours of service
Requirements
  • Class DZ license
  • Road maintenance and knowledge of OTM book 7
  • Mechanically inclined to operate small tools and heavy equipment
  • Willingness to remain on call occasionally and work assigned day, night, and weekend shifts
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Basic computer skills
