About the Role:

Purpose and Scope:

The Manufacturing Technician - Process Optimizer will be part of the Operations team, reporting to the Production Supervisor. The primary goal is to enhance operational efficiency through process optimization, ensuring seamless production workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize production processes to minimize downtime and maximize productivity
  • Document changes to setpoints, programs, and parameters using specified systems
  • Implement maintenance activities to reduce equipment downtime
  • Identify and escalate non-standard conditions to ensure prompt resolution
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize resource utilization and reduce expenses
  • Set up, monitor, and maintain machinery according to established procedures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively to minimize production disruptions
  • Review technical documentation to ensure compliance with job requirements
  • Minimize unplanned downtime through proactive maintenance activities
  • Maximize product quality through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide training and leadership to ensure quality standards are met
  • Participate in improvement projects to drive operational excellence
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment
  • Comply with safety and environmental policies to protect employees and the environment
  • Ensure quality management system requirements are met to maintain high-quality products
  • Perform other assigned duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Post-Secondary Mechanical Engineering Technology / Manufacturing Engineering Technician Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing setting
  • Experience with Coining press is advantageous
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement track record
  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and strong mechanical skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • High level of integrity and results orientation

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime
  • Manufacturing environment with limited climate control
  • Extended periods of standing and walking

Salary and Benefits:

Full-time, permanent role with a salary ranging from $26.54 to $37.50 per hour.
