Job Summary:

We are seeking a Sales and Operations Manager to join our team at Pet Valu. As a Sales and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading our sales team and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assign sales workers to duties and ensure they have the necessary training and support to succeed.
  • Authorize payments, returns, and other financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Establish work schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet customer demand.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters to inform business decisions.
  • Resolve customer complaints, supply shortages, and other issues promptly and professionally.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of sales workers, providing guidance and support as needed.
Requirements:
  • Candidates must have a strong understanding of sales principles and practices, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience in a retail or sales environment is highly desirable.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Accurate and efficient in handling financial transactions and reports.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a client-focused approach.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment and provide support to colleagues as needed.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and control procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, post-secondary education an asset.
  • English language proficiency required.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 30 hours per week, with flexibility to work longer hours as needed.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Familiarity with Pet Valu's policies and procedures.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
