About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Geotechnical Site Operations Specialist to join our team in Kamloops, British Columbia. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of geotechnical services for various industries across Canada.

Job Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting field inspections and monitoring during construction projects to guarantee compliance with geotechnical specifications and standards;
  • Carrying out in situ testing of various materials on construction sites, compaction testing, and testing of concrete;
  • Completing field investigations including soil logging of both drilling and test pitting operations;
  • Performing laboratory tests within our soils and concrete laboratory;
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment in accordance with specifications;
  • Ensuring an organized environment including soil inventory and equipment;
  • Collaborating with engineers and other team members to provide technical support and assistance as needed;
  • Maintaining accurate records of field and laboratory testing activities;
Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following qualifications:

  • A valid Class 5 Driver's license with an acceptable driving record;
  • Ability to work on a combination of field and office work in a variety of environments, including local and remote construction sites;
  • Highly organized, and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments;
Assets

While not mandatory, the following qualifications would be beneficial for success in this role:

  • A Technician/technologist diploma from a recognized college;
  • Experience with laboratory soil testing procedures such as Proctor Tests and grain size analyses;
  • CCIL and CSA Certification for soils, concrete, and asphalt.

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including health and dental coverage, a healthcare spending account, RRSP matching, and an Employee and Family assistance program.
