Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Press Operator to join our team at Almag Aluminum. As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating the extrusion press, ensuring optimal performance and quality of the final product.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the Extrusion Press: Safely and efficiently operate the extrusion press, ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Monitor and Control Process Parameters: Continuously monitor and control process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and speed to ensure optimal extrusion quality.
  • Manage Die Setup and Maintenance: Ensure that all necessary tooling is available and properly maintained, and that die changes are made efficiently and safely.
  • Communicate with Team Leads and Maintenance Team: Communicate directly with team leads and maintenance team members to report any mechanical breakdowns or issues, and to ensure that all necessary repairs are made in a timely manner.
  • Enter Data into EPICS: Enter all necessary data into the EPICS system, including billet lengths, cut-offs, cut sizes, and quality issues.
  • Perform Quality Checks: Perform regular quality checks on the extruded product to ensure that it meets Almag Aluminum's quality standards.
  • Maintain a Safe Working Environment: Maintain a safe working environment by following all company policies and procedures, and by reporting any safety concerns or hazards to management.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma with some technical background and mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience: 1-2 years' experience in an industrial environment, preferably in an extrusion press operation.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer skills, including MS Windows, and knowledge of machinery and ability to read drawings.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50lbs independently, and up to 100lbs in collaboration with a team member.
