Job Title: Housekeeping Room Attendant

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeping Room Attendant to join our team at Sudbury Retirement Manor. As a key member of our housekeeping staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our resident rooms and common areas.

Responsibilities:
  • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Dust furniture and fixtures to maintain a high level of cleanliness
  • Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture to prevent dust and dirt buildup
  • Make beds and change sheets to ensure a comfortable and clean sleeping environment
  • Distribute clean towels and toiletries to residents
  • Stock linen closets to ensure a sufficient supply of linens
  • Handle and report lost and found items to residents and management
  • Attend to guests' requests for extra supplies or other items
  • Provide basic information on facilities and services to residents and guests
  • Pick up debris and empty trash containers to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
  • Launder clothing and household linens to maintain a clean and hygienic environment
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
  • Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Work under pressure to meet cleaning and maintenance schedules
  • Repetitive tasks requiring attention to detail
  • Handling heavy loads and physically demanding tasks
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday
  • Overtime required to meet cleaning and maintenance schedules
Weight Handling:
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) of weight handling required
Personal Suitability:
  • Punctuality and reliability are essential for this role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing cleaning and maintenance schedules
  • Initiative and judgment to address customer complaints and concerns
  • Organized and efficient in completing tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Reliability and dependability in maintaining a clean and safe environment
  • Team player with excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience:
  • Experience an asset, but not required
Other Benefits:
