About the Role

Dawson Group is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Kamloops, BC. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for maintaining, rebuilding, and overhauling motorized commercial trucks, buses, and road transport equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to identify worn and damaged parts
  • Document all services and repairs in a timely and accurate manner
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure equipment is available for use
  • Remove, repair, adjust, overhaul, assemble, disassemble, and replace major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems
  • Verify vehicle performance through test drives and confirm repair completion before releasing the unit to the customer
Requirements
  • 4th year apprentice in Heavy Duty or Red Seal Certified
  • Strong electrical diagnostic skills
  • Class 1 or 3 driver's license is an asset
  • Air brake experience is an asset
  • First aid experience is an asset
