Salary

$15.93 per hour; however, depending upon operational or programming needs, there may be work assignments that will lead to a higher rate of pay of up to $22.84 per hour.

Job Description

The Recreation and Cultural Activity Coordinator will be responsible for preparing facilities, setting up and taking down equipment, monitoring the building, and supervising the facility for scheduled bookings, programs, and special events. This includes general cleaning duties for safe and efficient operation of equipment, programs, and facilities.

This position will require working non-standard hours, including weekends, depending on operational and programming needs. The successful candidate will have the ability to plan, organize, schedule, instruct, and evaluate program activities, as well as exercise initiative and good judgment when completing work assignments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR Level 'C' or St. John Ambulance Standard First Aid & CPR Level 'C'
  • Self-starter and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to plan, organize, schedule, instruct, and evaluate program activities
  • A proactive team member that contributes to a positive work environment
  • Exercise initiative and good judgment when completing work assignments
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Ability to be a positive role model for children and youth
  • Be dependable and reliable
  • Must have the means to travel within the city
