Job Title: Truck Driver

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Driver to join our team at NovaXpress Courier Services. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across various locations, ensuring timely delivery and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and adjust routes to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
  • Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner
  • Arrange travel itineraries and make reservations as needed
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, ensuring safe and efficient transportation
  • Load and unload goods, maintaining a high level of attention to detail
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks, adhering to all safety protocols
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, ensuring all aspects of the vehicle are in good working order
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch, maintaining effective communication
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo
Requirements:
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Driver logbook and trip reports
  • Tractor-trailer experience
  • Local, long-haul, provincial/territorial, and short-haul transportation experience
  • Attention to detail, physically demanding work, and repetitive tasks
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) weight handling
  • Cellular phone and steel-toed safety boots
  • Efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, judgment, organization, reliability, and teamwork
