Senior Principal Cloud Engineer

As a key member of our cloud engineering team at Scotiabank, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing our cloud solutions to ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our cloud-based systems. This position requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Develop and execute cloud strategies that align with business goals and objectives.
  • Ensure all cloud solutions comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of cloud systems to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Drive process automation initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on platform engineering for large organizations.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as Azure, or Google Cloud, with preference to Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
