Job Title: Process Control Engineer

Glencore is seeking a highly skilled Process Control Engineer to join our team. As a Process Control Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering process control programs/projects at client sites, providing input to other projects, and performing project work at other client sites as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure safety and sustainability in project work and day-to-day activities
  • Develop, test, and implement new controls, control strategies, and optimizing strategies
  • Identify, plan, and execute technical projects to expand a sustainable culture of Process Control
  • Lead, communicate, document, train, and report on project progress
  • Monitor and report on installed controls, recommending actions for maintenance or further development
  • Analyze processes, equipment, and review key targets to make recommendations on improved methods and optimization opportunities
  • Mentor and train less experienced staff and Engineers in Training (EITs)
  • Meet project deadlines and operation targets, milestones
  • Support and encourage quality assurance programs
  • Lead projects, including external projects, which may involve international travel to client sites
Requirements:
  • Engineering degree in Electrical, Metallurgical, or Chemical field with a focus on Process Control
  • Understanding of regulatory, advanced regulatory, and advanced process control
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or eligible for registration by a Canadian provincial licensing body
  • Minimum 4 years of plant, hands-on, relevant process control experience working with PLC and DCS regulatory and advanced controls and OSIsoft PI systems
  • Experience in process identification, modeling, and simulation
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite and knowledge of process control development, loop tuning, asset monitoring tools
  • French or Spanish language an asset
  • Keen business sense and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong project management and reporting skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Personable, team player
