Heavy Duty Equipment Technician

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Technician to join our team at Metric Farm Solutions Inc.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position that requires the ability to work on-site, with no option for remote work. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and inspecting heavy-duty equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
Responsibilities- Instruct apprentices in the proper techniques and procedures for maintaining and repairing heavy-duty equipment.
- Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine the necessary repairs and order parts as needed.
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory levels.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure it meets manufacturers' specifications and performs properly.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work as required.
- Perform repair work on heavy trucks and service attachments and working tools.
- Verify and repair emission control systems.
The ideal candidate will have experience in diesel engine repair specialization, including fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, and engine control systems. Additionally, they should have experience in powered equipment repair specialization, including hydraulic-operated working attachments. Mechanical maintenance and repair specialization experience, including drive trains and final drives, hydraulic transmissions, power take-offs, and off-road vehicle tires and wheels, is also highly desirable.
Additional RequirementsA valid driver's license is required for this position. We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
