Vancouver Island Health Authority is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our operations staff, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.
About the Role
- Operate, maintain, and repair building systems and equipment.
- Perform trade duties approaching the journeyman level in one or more construction trade areas.
- Work on building demolition, renovation, and construction tasks.
- Supervise designated staff and carry out related administrative duties.
Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized program in power engineering.
- Three years recent related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Certificate of competency as 4th Class Power Engineer.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
- Respirator fit testing and annual re-testing required.
