Job Summary:

The RailWorks Corporation is seeking a skilled Electrical Laborer to join our team as a Signal Maintenance Technician. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of electrical systems and a commitment to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rail infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain tools and equipment in ready-for-service condition, adhering to strict safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Perform periodic inspections and tests on electrical systems, ensuring compliance with railway and industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with other maintainers to troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Operate equipment and perform general labor tasks as required, working cooperatively with colleagues to achieve project goals.
  • Comply with all safety procedures and protocols, including those related to signal work and electrical systems.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of electrical experience, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Diploma in the electrical field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in signals and communications is an asset.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.

Physical Demands:

  • Works outdoors at construction sites, frequently standing, walking, climbing, balancing, lifting, bending, and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposed to all weather conditions, including very hot and very cold temperatures.
  • Exposed to loud noise and live track/trains and high voltage.
  • Ability to work days, afternoons, and nights, with occasional travel required.
