About the Opportunity:

The Executive Director will play a pivotal role in overseeing the organization's human and financial obligations, negotiating funding for programs, advocating for justice services, and building relationships with stakeholders and Chiefs of Nishnawbe-Aski Nation.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of human resources and financial management
  • Negotiation of program funding and advocacy for justice services
  • Building and maintaining partnerships with stakeholders and NAN communities
  • Collaboration with the Board of Directors to ensure alignment with the organization's vision and mandate

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Post-secondary degree or diploma in law, business administration, finance, human resources, or related fields
  2. A minimum of 5 years' management experience
  3. Education and/or equivalent experience working in the Ontario legal system
  4. Familiarity with NAN community cultural practices and the Euro-Canadian legal system
  5. Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with partners and stakeholders
  6. Willingness to travel as required and ability to speak Ojibway, Oji-Cree, Cree (an asset)

Location and Benefits:

Thunder Bay, ON. The Executive Director will enjoy a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, starting at approximately $138,016 annually, plus benefits.
