Job Description

The Chief Model Risk Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that model risk is adequately managed in accordance with the Bank's Model Risk Management Policy and regulatory requirements.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Model Risk Management, you'll be responsible for projects related to model validation and model risk governance. In this role, you'll work closely with stakeholders to ensure that models are validated and governed effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess the appropriateness and construction of models to their current or planned use with respect to their framework, data, logic, assumptions, and implementation.
  • Create independent benchmarks to test validated model outputs.
  • Identify and assess model-related issues, limitations, and weaknesses, and communicate findings to key stakeholders.
  • Generate validation reports according to the Bank's policy and templates.
  • Maintain model risk-related policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures covering the model life cycle and exceptions.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A Master's degree in Math, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Math Finance, Engineering, Economics, or equivalent quantitative background.
  • Strong project management and time management skills.
  • Good understanding of model risk management principles and practices.
  • Excellent technical communication and writing skills.
  • Past work experience in a corporate environment is an asset.
