About the Role

As a Mechanical Engineer-in-Training at MCW Group of Companies, you will play a key role in coordinating projects of various sizes and complexity to deliver project deadlines. This position requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Project Activities: Implement the design concept through the preparation and production of drawings and schematics of mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with Disciplines: Coordinate with other disciplines internally as well as externally with consultants and architects to ensure drawing integrity and completeness.
  • Assist in Contract Documents: Assist in the contract documents including the specifications.
  • Work with the Field Review Team: Work with the field review team during the construction phase and ensure code compliance.
  • Update Project Schedule: Update the schedule regularly as agreed to for the project.
  • Shop-Drawing Reviews: Assist with shop-drawing reviews.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical and administrative support through all phases of the project.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering Technology or other relevant discipline such as Building Systems.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant working experience in the consulting industry or equivalent.
  • Software Skills: Background developing construction documents using AutoCAD and/or Revit. Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Communication Skills: Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization, including executives.
