A.S.P. Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Airport Security Officer to join our team at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. As an Aviation Security Specialist, you will be responsible for providing advanced-level security services in a professional, competent, and courteous manner.

About the Role

This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of aviation security policies and procedures. You will be responsible for patrolling the Passenger Terminal Building, PortsToronto facilities, airport perimeter, and responding to calls for assistance from employees or at the direction of the Airport Operations Communication Center.

You will also be required to:

  • Patrol the groundside curb, parking lots, and grounds around the airport
  • Carry and use Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) equipment as required
  • Complete reports on all incidents, security infractions, deficiencies, or other irregularities noted during patrols
  • Escort unauthorized persons out of the Restricted Area or off the premises if found therein
  • Conduct general airside escorts as requested
  • Provide assistance to emergency response personnel
  • Provide assistance to the public, i.e., general information, directions, etc.

$65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience, with opportunities for career advancement and professional development.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience within North American security industry and experience in a related security function
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in Aviation security an asset
  • Graduate from a recognized community college in the field of law enforcement, security administration, or related field, including justice studies, social service, mental health, and/or healthcare an asset
  • Physical training and attributes with hands-on experience with making or assisting arrests
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Strong communication and observation skills, including report writing
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment
  • Ability to make quick and informed decisions
