Job Overview
We are seeking a Junior CAD Designer to join our team in Montreal. The ideal candidate will have some prior experience in the apparel industry and a strong understanding of the design process. This role will focus on supporting the creation of apparel designs, working with fit and assisting in the development of tech packs.
Main Responsibilities:
- CAD Design Support: Assist in creating and preparing CAD designs for apparel products, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Tech Pack Development: Support the development of tech packs, including garment specifications, materials, trims, and construction details.
- Design Library Maintenance: Help update and maintain design libraries and templates, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the design and product development teams to ensure designs align with brand vision and seasonal direction. Participate in fit sessions, offering insights and helping to refine designs based on fit feedback.
- Production Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, sourcing, and quality control, to ensure designs meet production standards.
- Design File Management: Assist in updating design files and revisions as needed to maintain accuracy throughout the development process.
- Seasonal Collection Support: Provide design support for seasonal collections, helping to meet tight deadlines and deliver high-quality products.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience (1-2 years) in the apparel industry, preferably in design or product development.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of apparel construction, fit, and fabrics. Experience in creating and managing tech packs and garment specifications.
- Skills: Knowledge of the full design process, from initial concept to production. Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently within deadlines. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Education: Positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn and grow within the fashion industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn internal design systems quickly.
