Job Title: Senior Highway Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Highway Designer to join our team at Parsons. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for preparing complex road and highway designs and traffic engineering layouts using theoretical and practical design knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare difficult and complex road and highway designs and traffic engineering layouts using Civil 3D and/or Microstation, InRoads/OpenRoads.
  • Interpret and ensure conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Perform basic geometrics design of road and highway systems.
  • Work closely with engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated design systems.
  • Meet traffic engineering layout requirements and develop alternate design layouts of systems as required.
  • Ensure compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications.
  • Review supplier data and supplier/manufacturer drawings, as required.
  • Check orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.
  • Perform checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline and assigned by immediate supervisor.
  • Assist in training lower-level designers in various procedures.
Requirements:
  • 2-year technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course (or equivalent).
  • 6+ years of relevant experience.
