As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for reviewing files for accuracy and quality control, assisting Underwriters in the analysis of difficult or complicated files, and communicating with lawyers and law clerks to explain coverages and answer challenging inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:


Review and analyze title opinions, off-title searches, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with the Company's underwriting principles and guidelines.

Communicate with lawyers and law clerks to explain coverages and answer challenging inquiries.

Participate in the development of guidelines and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy in our underwriting processes.

Develop and update Continuing Professional Development presentations to share knowledge and best practices with colleagues.

Attend real estate and title insurance industry functions to stay up-to-date on industry developments and trends.

Requirements:


Law degree and a member of at least one Provincial Bar Association.

Minimum 2 years of residential real estate experience, with commercial real estate experience an asset.

Strong understanding of real estate conveyancing and real estate law.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision.

Proven ability to develop working relationships at multiple levels of an organization.

Ability to be self-directed and motivated, with strong organizational and time management skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a willingness to work overtime when required.
