Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer / Revit Modelling specialist to play a crucial role in the design and drafting of mechanical HVAC and Plumbing systems for various projects. Under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers, you will have the opportunity to work independently while also providing leadership and mentorship to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and draft mechanical HVAC and Plumbing systems for various projects using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and REVIT.
2. Place and size distribution systems and equipment according to industry standards and company guidelines.
3. Perform load calculations using company-provided software and select mechanical equipment working directly with suppliers and manufacturer's representatives.
4. Prepare schematic design, design development, and construction documents in accordance with company standards and guidelines.
5. Review your own work for errors and omissions prior to supervisor review and use project review checklists and clash detection software to assist in reviewing all projects.
6. Assist with preparing drawing and book specifications, coordinating mechanical systems and design with other disciplines, and identifying additional services and fees to project managers in a timely fashion.
7. Participate in design and construction meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors, maintain project schedules and budgets, and strive to accomplish company goals through continual improvement of workflows and design standards.

Requirements:

1. Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering is an asset, but not required.
2. Professional accreditation such as CET, E.I.T, or P.Tech (Eng.) is strongly encouraged but not mandatory.
3. Experience in mechanical HVAC and Plumbing design is an asset, but not necessary.
4. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including plumbing, HVAC, heating, cooling, air handlers, and fire protection, and ability to interpret construction drawings.
5. Knowledge of current codes and standards such as local plumbing and building codes is essential.
6. Understanding of Reinbold design and documentation standards is critical for success in this role.
7. Familiarity with software programs such as Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, REVIT, etc., is highly desirable.
